History and evolution

Infor LN originates from technology developed by Baan Corporation in the 1990s. After Baan was acquired through SSA Global and later absorbed into Infor, the product evolved into what is now Infor LN.

Over time, the platform has been redesigned with updated architecture, expanded industry-specific capabilities, and support for cloud deployment.

While its roots can be traced to the former Baan ERP, Infor LN is maintained and developed as a modern discrete-manufacturing system with significant advancements beyond the original Baan codebase.
